Thermal Detection

Thermal imaging is independent of visible light. Full detection capability at midnight, dusk, dawn, or midday. Elephants are most active at night — so is ELEKIND.

Behaviour-Informed Design
Deterrence sequences are composed using frequencies and temporal patterns that trigger natural avoidance responses in elephants. Bee buzzing frequencies, distress vocalizations, and unfamiliar acoustic signatures create uncertainty without physical harm.
Habituation Resistance
Static deterrence fails because elephants learn and adapt. ELEKIND rotates through 10+ pre-composed sequences. Each detection event triggers a different combination of frequencies, durations, and patterns.
Event-Triggered Activation
Deterrence activates only on confirmed AI detection. No continuous background noise. No unnecessary disturbance to the forest ecosystem. The system is silent until an elephant is detected.

Zero-Connectivity Operation

ELEKIND operates in the most remote forest deployments with zero internet infrastructure. Every function — detection, classification, deterrence, alerting — works entirely offline.

On-Device AI
All inference runs locally on the dedicated AI accelerator. No cloud API calls. No data uploads required for operation. The AI lives on the device.
SMS Alerts via SIM
Cellular modem sends SMS alerts to forest department personnel on detection events. Works on basic 2G/4G cellular coverage. No internet required.
Optional Data Upload
When HTTP connectivity is available, the device uploads detection logs and thermal frames to a central server. Connectivity is a bonus, not a requirement.

Designed for remote forest deployments where there is no Wi-Fi, no fiber, and often no reliable cellular data. The device is its own command center.


Built on Indian Research

GAJ-DASTAK's technology stack builds on decades of Indian research in wildlife conservation, edge computing, and AI — drawing from the work of institutions like the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), IIT research labs, and field data from MoEFCC's Project Elephant.

Our AI models are trained on real thermal data from Indian forests — not Western datasets. Our hardware is designed for Indian conditions: 45°C summers, monsoon rains, remote off-grid deployment. Our acoustic deterrence is based on elephant behavioural research specific to Asian elephants in Indian habitats.

This is sovereign AI for sovereign conservation — designed in India, built in India, deployed in India's forests, under the guidance of Indian Forest Service officers.
